2008 Phone-a-thon
The 6th annual Camas Educational Foundation Phonathon will be held Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday, March 4, 5, and 6, from 6-8:30 p.m. at the district office. Student and adult volunteers will call households in the Camas School District to ask for support.
We’re hoping to raise $30,000, which would continue a string of new records. Last year we brought in $28,700, and have raised more than $100,000 in the event’s first five years.
Funds raised go to our schools for curriculum enhancement in the areas of math and science, reading and language, foreign language, arts, social studies, history and more.
A few specific grants recently have gone to:
- Unique and interactive performing arts live presentations for kids
- Foreign language enrichment programs
- The Mock Trial program at the high school
- Digital photography equipment
- The Math/Science Magnet program at the high school
- Hayes Freedom High School library
The Phonathon Committee is counting on finding a large number of student and parent volunteers to make it a big success. Please give strong consideration to volunteering on one of the three nights. Even just one hour of calling would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Phonathon chairperson Gary Tipton at 834-4552 if you’d like to help.
